Our Journey to Bound Tours
Every adventure starts somewhere, and ours began eight years ago in Whistler, Canada. That’s where we first met, both of us training to become ski instructors. Days spent carving down snowy slopes sparked not only a love for adventure, but also for each other.
Following Canada, we kept chasing new experiences together. One of our favourite chapters was when we hired a camper van in Australia and set off to explore. Life on the road taught us so much about freedom, discovery, and the joy of simple living.
But it was the Falkland Islands that truly captured our hearts. Zak has a deep family connection here, his father was born in the Falklands, and as a family they would often spend months each year on the islands. The rugged beauty, incredible wildlife, and rich history left a lasting impression.
In 2023, we decided to make the Falklands our permanent home. It felt like the perfect next step, after years of travel, we had found a place we loved so much we simply couldn’t leave. Being part of a close-knit community, making new friends, and living in a landscape where penguins are your neighbours felt nothing short of magical.
For two years, we worked at Bluff Cove Lagoon, one of the Falklands’ most special wildlife destinations. It was here that we learned so much about the islands, their nature, their people, and their stories, all while having the absolute best time. Those experiences gave us not only knowledge, but also an even deeper appreciation for this remarkable place.
What started as a place we loved to visit grew into the place we knew we wanted to stay. The Falklands became home, and with that, the vision for Bound Tours was born.
With Bound Tours, we want to share the Falklands that we fell in love with: the wildlife, the history, the landscapes, and above all, the warmth of its people. Every tour is personal, shaped by our journey and our passion for these islands.
